all images from "On Photographing Breasts"

Julia Bradshaw's residency project developed out of an investigation of photography textbooks. Julia was particulary aroused by the language of the texts. She responded by creating handsewn 'props' which she then photographed on three generations of her husband's family. The resulting folios are smart, humorous, and comment on the legacy and history of photography as a fine art discipline.

Julia, a native of England, has a background in international project management. Her MFA is from San José State University. At the time of her residency Julia had just completed her first semester as Assistant Professor of Photography at CSU Fresno.
